Nearly All Jewish Institutions in Miami Area Suffered Damages During Hurricane

Nearly all Jewish institutions in the Greater Miami area were damaged by the hurricane that hit here last week, it was reported today. The Beth Jacob Synagogue reported that stained glass windows were smashed, heavy exterior moulding was ripped off and the roof was badly damaged.

The all-day Hebrew Academy reported “considerable damage to books, as well as to the classroom building.” The dome of the Miami Beach Jewish Center was reported damaged. Other institutions which suffered a varisty of damages included the Miami Hebrew School and Congregation, Hillel House at the University of Miami, Temple Israel and the Jewish Home for the Aged.
