Benjamin G. Browdy, president of the Zionist Organization of America, in a telegram to President Truman, pledged “all-out and unconditional support” of the nation-wide membership of the organization to the national emergency program proclaimed by the President to “mobilize the resources and manpower of this country in defense of democracy against the aggressor.”
Mr. Browdy also stressed that the Z.O.A. “through its program of aid to Israel as a democratic bastion in the Middle East and for the enrichment of the cultural heritage of the American Jewish community based on the American way of life, stands solidly behind President Truman in his great and noble effort to rally the united nation against aggression and enslavement.”
