The Israel Manufacturers Association has proclaimed a lockout of all metal products plants in Israel effective midnight tonight unless the Histadrut calls off its strike against ten metal producing factories.

The Association has indicated that it is willing to abide by a government decision in settling the dispute if the workers will do likewise. The strike is more than a week old.
