Problems concerning Jews in various countries will be discussed at a five-day conference of the International Council of Jewish Women which opened here tonight. Delegates from six countries are attending the parley.
Addressing the opening session, Mrs. Joseph M. Welth, of Detroit, president of the organization, said that “America and Israel had become reservoirs of hope and strength for the survival of Judaism.” She pointed out that the Jews are today facing a two-fold task of providing material help to those in need and insuring the cultural continuation of Judaism.
