The Federal Council of Italian Evangelical Churches, the central Protestant body in this country, has contacted the Union of Jewish Communities of Italy for joint action to obtain from the Italian Government a series of regulations which it must issue, under the provisions of the Italian Constitution, to govern relations between the state and the non-Catholic communities.

Thus far the contact between the Protestant community and the Jewish community has only reached preliminary levels, but further developments are expected shortly. Meanwhile, several deputies have raised the question in Parliament, urging the government to complete agreements on these regulations with the non-Catholic communities.
