Most fruits and vegetables were removed from price control in Israel today and prices immediately soared.
A spokesman for the Ministry of Trade and Industry promised that prices would drop again soon after the market is “saturated.” Exempted from the decontrol measure were potatoes, onions, tomatoes, carrots, cabbage, cauliflower, garlic and bananas.
