Five representatives of American “4-H” clubs will sail for Israel from New York tomorrow to work on farms in the state for several months under the sponsorship of the cooperative extension service of the Department of Agriculture.
As part of a program to develop better understanding between American and Israel farmers, the undertaking is a phase of a world-wide operation to promote peace. The Department of Agriculture made known that a group of Israelis are bour for the United States to live with American farm families to study rural life and farm methods in this country.
The American agriculturists, selected by local committees in various states, will report on Israel through publications, radio, and speaking tours when they return. They are Margaret Dial, Eric, III;, Jewell Ellis, Gravel Switch, Ky.; Harry P. Light, Jr., Summit Point, W. Va.; John A. Ries, Jr., Topernish, Wash.; and Jean Louisa Smith, Manlius, N.Y. They were received this week at the Israel Embassy here.
