MUNICH (Jun. 16)
A school for 165 Jewish children was opened today at the Foehrenwald refugee camp, the last camp for Jewish displaced persons in Germany. The Bavarian provincial government allocated 51,000 marks for the construction of the school.
Representatives of the government and of the Joint Distribution Committee spoke at the opening ceremony. The government representative stressed the desire of the authorities to ensure the best possible education for the children at the camp. The J.D.C. representative welcomed the opening of the school as further proof of goodwill on the part of the German authorities toward the displaced Jews.
