TEL AVIV (Dec. 28)
Israel’s Foreign Minister Moshe Sharett today expressed hope that immigration to Israel will be renewed from a number of countries which have forbidden the departure of Jews.
Addressing a Mapai meeting here, Mr. Sharett said two possibilities exist for those governments that wish to decrease their Jewish population–mass arrests or expulsion. The latter, he said, means permitting them to leave for Israel. He also voiced the hope that Jewish immigration to Israel from North Africa would increase.
