President Eisenhower told his press conference today that the Bricker Resolution, which has been opposed by major Jewish organizations, might restrict the government in its conduct of foreign affairs. The resolution, which is pending before the Senate, would prohibit this nation from entering such international treaties as the United Nations Human Rights and Genocide Conventions.
The President said the 64 Senators sponsoring the resolution were convinced that it would work for the good of the United States and protect individual rights. But in other ways. he said, Secretary of State Dulles and he agreed it might function to the government’s disadvantage.
