Acting Secretary of State Urges Admission of 240,000 Aliens

Acting Secretary of State Walter Bedell Smith today testified before the House Judiciary Committee in favor of emergency legislation requested by President Eisenhower to admit 240,000 aliens above normal quotas in the next two years. He said that enactment of the legislation would be a blow against Communism.
