Prof. Mazar, Hebrew University President, Arrives in New York

Professor Benjamin Mazar, president of the Hebrew University, arrived from Jerusalem by plane today to participate in a testimonial dinner tomorrow to former President Truman and at the same time to receive a “Salute from American Higher Education to the Hebrew University” sponsored by Professor Albert Einstein and other leading American educations and scientists.

The event will be held under the auspices of the American Friends of the Hebrew University. It will climax the organization’s 1953 New York campaign for $1,000,000 in behalf of the University. Mr. Truman will receive the Hebrew University’s Solomon Bublick Public Service Award for 1953 in recognition of his services “to Israel, the Jewish people and all mankind.” Dr. George S. Wise, national president of the American Friends, will make the presentation to American’s former Chief Executive.
