Any attempt by the Israel Government to implement its legislation to conscript Orthodox young women for national non-military service would meet with the strongest resistance among world Jewry, Rabbi Ahron Kotler, prominent American rabbi, said today at the session of the World Congress of Agudas Israel here. He expressed the hope that the government would permit the measure to remain pigeon-holed.
The delegates to the congress today decided that the affairs of the world Agudah movement would be conducted from three centers–Jerusalem, London and New York. In Jerusalem the local Agudah movement would also be responsible for general problems of the world movement; the London office would be responsible for European Agudah problems; and the New York office would handle American, Latin American and United Nations work of the Agudah movement.
A delegation from the conference today called on Premier Moshe Sharett to discuss with him various religious problems in Israel.
