A resolution calling on New York State to erect a flagpole in Battery Park in New York City to mark the place where the first Jews landed in America 300 years ago was introduced in the State Legislature yesterday.

The measure, providing for funds for the flagpole and an inscribed plaque, was introduced by Assemblyman Hyman E. Mintz and State Senator Walter G. McGahan, who acted for the Joint Legislative Committee for the American Jewish Tercentenary. The legislators said that the joint committee was unanimous in the belief that such a marker should be erected.
