A campaign for adopting a bill attempting to eliminate discrimination in jobs and public accommodations in New Hampshire has received “overwhelming support from all sections of the state,” according to Judge Emile Lemelin, chairman of the New Hampshire Equal Rights Committee, sponsor of the measure.
The bill, Judge Lemelin said, provides for adjustment of complaints through “education and peaceful means” and would protect the “good name of persons complained against.” He revealed that the bill does not contain criminal sanctions and penalty clauses. The committee includes representatives of the B’nai B’rith in the state and the Jewish War Veterans of this city.
