The Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany announced today its second annual program for refugee rabbi assistance and for rabbinical research. This year’s program is on behalf of persons who functioned as rabbis of communities up to the time of the Nazi occupation of their countries and who currently are in financial need. The research program is on behalf of rabbis possessing established records for rabbinical research, and is intended to provide the means for obtaining the materials and the specific services needed for the individual research projects.
Rabbis who have already made application to the Conference for social assistance or for rabbinical research will be eligible for consideration without a second application and are requested not to apply again. Rabbis who have not yet made application and who are in a position to meet the eligibility requirements mentioned above may submit applications to the Conference until May 1, 1955.
