An exhibition, consisting of 40 panels telling “The Story of the Kupat Holim,” the medical network of the Histadrut, opened here today under the sponsorship of the National Committee for Labor Israel. The exhibition will remain in New York until the end of the year and will then be sent on a tour of major American cities. Israel nurses studying in the United States will act as hostesses at the exhibit.

The Kupat Holim, which had more than one million enrolled members this year with a budget of 45 million pounds, covers the families of members of the Histadrut, of immigrants and of soldiers on active duty with the Israel armed forces. It maintains 14 major hospitals, 850 clinics, 180 infant welfare stations and 446 pharmacies in caring for two-thirds of Israel’s people.
