German Government Issuing Postage Stamp Honoring Heinrich Heine

To mark the 100th anniversary of the death of Jewish-born German author and poet Heinrich Heine, West Germany will issue a special postage stamp, with Heine’s portrait. At the house where he was born, a memorial tablet will be unvaried to replace one that was removed during the Nazi era.
