The Soviet Government has promised to investigate the disappearance of Raoul Wallenberg, Swedish diplomat who played a leading wartime role in rescuing Jews from the Nazis, the Times reported today from Moscow. Mr. Wallenberg, member of a famous Swedish diplomatic family, disappeared in Budapest in 1945 shortly after the Soviet Army liberated the Hungarian capital. The Swedish Government knew Mr. Wallenberg was arrested by the Russians, but does not know if he is still alive.
