The Israel Government denied today reports from London that the government was participating in negotiations with foreign oil companies for the laying of an oil pipeline between Elath, on the Gulf of Akaba, and Haifa. The projected pipeline, the reports had it, would serve as an alternate route to tanker traffic through the Suez Canal.
