World Methodist Conference, Held in U.s., Condemns Religious Bias

Representatives of 18,000,000 Methodist church members in 44 countries yesterday condemned religious discrimination as well as segregation and bias for reasons of race or color.

In an action taken at Lake Junaluska, North Carolina, after two days of conference on the subject, the ninth World Methodist Conference issued a 1,500 word statement which expressed “active concern” for those who suffer religious discrimination. It also called on Methodists to foster a “genuine and all inclusive fellowship” wherever they lived.
