An Israeli scientist who recently visited Moscow to attend a conference of macromolecular chemists, reported today to his associates at the Weizmann Institute that introduction of a numerous clauses for Jews in Soviet science, as recently advocated by some Soviet officials, would seriously affect the Jews in Soviet science
Prof, Aharon Katzir said there were 24, 000 Jews in scientific positions in the Soviet Union out of a total of 223, 000 although there were only three and a half million Jews in a total population of over 200, 000, 000.
