Fifteen Iranian Jewish families who had been settled in Abdulam less than a month ago, staged a sit-down strike in front of the Jewish Agency offices yesterday because they did not want to live in a village and sought transfer to the city.
Officials of the settlement department received a delegation of the strikers and pointed out that they were enjoying the best accommodations hitherto provided settlers, along with guaranteed employment at full pay. The demonstrators agreed to submit a memorandum and ended their strike.
