Jewish student leaders representing student groups on 95 American, Canadian and Israeli campuses began their 13th annual national B’nai B’rith Hillel Summer Institute today. On the first day, Hillel directors from a number of colleges lectured the 175 students on the importance of being Jewish while growing in the world of scholarship. The Institute will close on September 9.

Maurice Samuel, noted lecturer and author, will address the institute tomorrow on the “Uniqueness of the Sabbath” in Jewish life, while Rabbi Louis Milgrom, Hillel director at the University of Minnesota is scheduled to discuss “God and Man: What Can the Jewish Student Believe.” One of the additional features on the institute program this year are concerts of Israeli and Jewish music.
