Orthodox American Jewry tonight pledged “fullest support” to President-elect John F. Kennedy. A resolution adopted unanimously at the opening, here, of the 62nd anniversary biennial national convention of the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America, voiced that promise.

The convention, attended by 1,000 delegates, voted to send a telegram to Sen. Kennedy, congratulating him on his election and extending to him the assurance of support by Orthodox Jewish congregations and worshippers in the United States. Senator Kennedy, a Roman Catholic, is the first member of his faith ever elected to the American Presidency.
