Yaacov Hodess, Veteran Zionist Journalist, Dies in Israel; Was 75

Funeral services were held here today for Yaacov Hodess, prominent journalist and veteran Zionist, who died here at the age of 75. Born in Lithuania, he came to England as a youth, where he worked for the London Daily Express from 1907 to 1928 and for Zionist publications. He became editor of the New Judea in 1924.

Mr. Hodess, who was closely associated with Dr. Chaim Weizmann and Nachum Sokolow, settled in Jerusalem in 1949, when he was named editor of Zion, a quarterly magazine published by the World Zionist Organization, Mr. Hodess was eulogized by former Premier Moshe Sharett and Education Minister Abba Eban.
