Chancellor Konrad Adenauer told a press conference here that West Germany will continue aiding Israel after 1963, when the German-Israel Reparations Agreement is due to expire, “We acknowledge our moral duty to assist Israel after 1963 too, ” he stated.
Asked about West Germany’s recent agreement to extend large credits to the United Arab Republic, Dr. Adenauer said those credits are not given without conditions. The credits, he declared, will be given only for certain enterprises, which will be checked carefully by Germany.
