Adrianne Ayares of Baltimore scored the first victory of the Sixth Maccabiah Games for the Americans yesterday by defeating Tova Epstein, the Israeli women’s tennis champion, 6-3, 6-1. The competition among the 1,000 athletes in 18 sports categories got underway officially today. The tennis group began the games a day earlier.
