A gift of $150,000 to be used for the expansion of the psychiatric services at Beth Israel here, was made today by Mr. and Mrs. George Sherman, well-known philanthropists here.
The announcement of the gift was made by Irving W. Rabb, chairman of the hospital’s $7,500,000 development fund campaign. Both George Sherman and Mrs. Beatrice Sherman had previously made large contributions to Brandeis University, the Newton-Wellesley Hospital, Jewish Memorial Hospital, Combined Jewish Philanthropies, the Hebrew Home for the Aged and the development program of Boston University.
