Discussions on the relationship between Israel and American Jewry–what’s wrong with it and how it can be strengthened–will begin here tomorrow when 500 American Jews and an equal number of Israelis sit down in Jerusalem’s Convention Hall for a three-day “dialogue” sponsored by the American Jewish Congress.

The opening session tomorrow evening will feature a public discussion between Abba Eban, Israel’s Minister of Education, and Dr. Joachim Prinz, president of the American Jewish Congress, on “How Israeli and American Jews View Each Other.”

Following this exchange, the American and Israeli delegates to the conference will break up into groups of ten–five Americans and five Israelis–for round-table discussions of the issues raised. Conclusions and comments will be brought to the floor of the conference by discussion leaders. This pattern will be followed throughout the three-day “dialogue.” Israel Premier David Ben-Gurion and Moshe Sharett, chairman of the Jewish Agency executive, are scheduled to address a plenary session of the conference.
