Dr. Silver, who was the guest of honor at a dinner resulting in the sale of more than $100,000 in Israel bonds in the Waldorf Astoria, said he found it “most gratifying that the period of Israel’s consolidation has not been attended by the sort of crisis, strife and disorder bordering on chaos, which has been the unfortunate experience of some of the recently founded states in Africa and Asia. In this regard, Israel has demonstrated a political maturity of a very high order. “
