N.Y. Federation Gets $1,000, 000 Grant to Aid Services for the Aged

A grant of $1,000, 000 has been made to the Federation of Jewish Philanthropies here, for the establishment of a committee to coordinate services for the aged, Dr. Maurice B. Hexter, executive vice-president of the Federation, announced today.

The grant was made by Jerome E. Malino and Monroe Goldwater, executors of the Henrietta and Stuart Hirshman Foundation. The new group, to be called the Hirschman Coordinating Committee for Services to the Aged, will, according to Dr. Hexter, “enable older persons and their families to receive the proper type of assistance at the right time.”
