A $450,000 gift to build a medical research center at the Ottawa Civic Hospital, has been contributed by the Loeb Foundation established by a leading Jewish family of this city. The research center, the first such facility in Ottawa, will be dedicated to the memory of Moses and Rose Loeb, parents of the donor family, and of the late Dr. Henry H. Loeb, a brother of the donors who practiced at the hospital until his death in 1949.

The five surviving brothers who made gifts are Norman, Bertram, Jules, David and Dr. Lazarus. Bertram Loeb is the first vice-president of the Zionist Organization of Canada, national chairman of the United Israel Appeal of Canada and president of Supersol, Israel’s supermarket chain.
