Dr. Israel Chodos, Rabbi of Sinai Temple, oldest Conservative Congregation in the Southwest, died at the age of 58. He had been ill since Nov. 30, 1962 when he collapsed in the pulpit. His right leg was amputated, and it was believed that he was on the road to recovery. Author of a book, “Count Your Blessings,” he was also a concert violinist in his youth. He had served congregations in Worcester, Mass.; Indianapolis, and Oklahoma City.
