Having met Egyptian agents in Paris, and agreeing to supply them with information on military and immigration matters, Agassi returned to Israel and asked a friend, named Sviri, to help him with this job. Sviri was sentenced today to 21 months in jail.
Sviri’s mistake, which led to the apprehension of the two men, was in asking a third man to participate in the scheme. The third man turned out to be an Israeli security service agent. As a result of the agent’s apprehension of the pair, they were arrested while meeting recently at Ramat Gan.
