American Friends of Hebrew University Award Presented to Zena Harman

Mrs. Zena Harman, of Israel, chairman of the executive board of the United Nations Children’s Fund, today received the 1964 Woman of the Year Award of the American Friends of the Hebrew University. The award was given at a luncheon at the Americana Hotel.

Mrs. Harman, the first Israeli to head an international agency of the United Nations, was honored in recognition of “her outstanding efforts in behalf of the youth of Israel, in appreciation of her leadership in the world community of nations and her espousal of the humanitarian ideals which are the guiding principles of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.”
