George Rockwell, leader of the American Nazi Party, who boasted over a televised press conference that the California wing of his party would open its headquarters in the City of Glendale bordering on Los Angeles, was warned today by Glendale officials that the use of a home in that city by the Nazi Party for any other function than a home would not be tolerated.
Glendale Mayor Herman E. Barnes and City Manager C.E. Perkins, after examining the proposed Nazi California headquarters, said occupation of the house for other than dwelling purposes would be a violation of the Glendale City ordinances. “If Rockwell, Forbes (Ralph Forbes, captain of the Nazi Party wing) or any other of this gang attempt to do so they will be prosecuted immediately,” said the two officials. Even the posting of a sign in front of the building would be cause for prosecution, they emphasized.
