Plans for the establishment of Israel’s new Embassy in West Germany are being completed by two officials of the Israel Foreign Ministry who arrived here last week. The officials are Zeev Shek, who heads the Foreign Ministry’s European desk, and Deputy Director Yaakov Mitzan, in charge of administrative affairs.
The Israel Embassy, to be headed by the newly designated envoy here, Asher Ben-Nathan, former Director-General of the Defense Ministry, is due to arrive here next month. It has apparently been decided that the Embassy will be either in this city, capital of West Germany, or at Bad Godesberg, a suburb where many other embassies are located. The consular and economic sections of the Israeli mission are expected to have their headquarters at Cologne.
Meanwhile, Dr. Rolf. Pauls, Germany’s Ambassador-Designate, is expected to leave for Israel August 9 accompanied by three counselors and other staff members. They will live at first in the Accadia Hotel, north of Tel Aviv.
