A “slow-down strike” by workers at a largo military workshop in Israel was smashed this weekend after the authorities in charge of the plant locked out all who participated in the action. The action had been called unauthorized. The shop committee at the plant sent a letter to the authorities in charge, apologizing for the action and pledging “good behavior” in the future.
The Hilton Hotel here today laid off 70 semi-skilled workers, attributing the step to “efficiency.” The number of employes was thus reduced from 580 to 510: A committee of members of the hotel’s staff protested against the lay-off.
