American Nazi Party leader George Rockwell was ordered out of the Civic Center here, along with 20 followers, when a near riot resulted among the crowd of 3,000 to 4,000 persons when he tried to speak. After declaring that he came to San Francisco to “solve the city’s Negro problem,” he was met by jeers and pelted with eggs by the angry crowd. Anti-Nazi demonstrators carried signs declaring: “Defeat Fascism,” “Go Home Nazis” and “Keep Racism Out of San Francisco.”
