The Sherut La’Am “Service to the People” program said today that 39 young American Jews, aged 19 to 39, left for Israel this month for a year of service to Israel under the program. They will join another group of 56 American Jews who went to Israel in June, making a total of 95 taking part in the program for 1966-67. Members of the second group, college students and graduates, volunteered to work either in a collective settlement or in new settlement towns.
