The South African Zionist Federation decided to mark David Ben-Gurion’s 80th birthday by planting a forest of 10,000 trees near Sde Boker, the former Prime Minister’s kibbutz. The project, to which Jews throughout South Africa will be asked to contribute, has the approval of Ben-Gurion and the Jewish National Fund.
