Arab Marauders Killed in Encounter with Israelis Near Kibbutz Maoz Chaim

Two Arab marauders were killed Sunday night in an encounter with an Israeli patrol near Kibbutz Maoz Chaim in the Beisan Valley, it was reported here today. There were no Israeli casualties. Soon after the Israeli patrol fired on the saboteurs, the Jordanians on the east side of the river opened heavy fire for about an hour to cover the saboteurs’ retreat. The saboteurs were equipped with Russian rifles and anti-vehicle mines. Israeli authorities believed they were sent to plant mines on roads and tracks in the valley.

Jordanian soldiers opened fire on Israeli positions in the Beisan Valley east of the Jordan River and around the Allenby Bridge today, sources here reported. There were no Israeli casualties.
