El Fatah, the largest Arab guerrilla organization, is expected to receive permission to open a recruiting and propaganda office in India despite protests to Premier Indira Gandhi by several members of parliament. A three-member El Fatah team on a one-month propaganda tour of India made a formal request to open an office at a meeting with the Foreign Minister. According to reports, the Indian Government has promised them material and moral support.
Five members of Parliament wrote to Mrs. Gandhi demanding the expulsion of the El Fatah group on grounds that they entered India under false names and that their organization is pledged to annihilate Israel. The MPs also charged that the Arab guerrillas have been responsible for several aerial hijackings. They said that another El Fatah team recently toured Pakistan calling for a Moslem holy war against India over Kashmir.
