The Pioneer Women national board meeting here today sent a telegram to President Nixon urging reconsideration regarding big power talks in the Middle East. “It is our strong belief that only through direct negotiations can a realistic peace be attained,” the telegram said. It added that it is to the best interest of this country “to support Israel’s recent requests for economic and military assistance. It is essential that such help should be forthcoming to maintain Israel’s position as the only true democracy in the Middle East.”
