Foreign Minister Maurice Schumann told the cabinet today that the Middle East situation was “much brighter” with the acceptance of the United States peace initiative by Egypt. Jordan and Israel, a Ministry spokesman reported. It was further learned that M.Schumann described the chances for a Mideast peace as riper now than at any other time in the past 22 years, or since the establishment of the State of Israel.
