Single Shot Fired from West Side of Canal; Israeli Patrol on Golan Heights Hit by Mortar Fire

A single shot was fired from the Egyptian side of the Suez Canal last night. There were no casualties and the shot was not returned, a military spokesman reported today. An Israeli half-track was damaged when it hit a mine near the Lebanese border this morning. There were no casualties. An Israeli position near Buq’ata in the Golan Heights was hit by mortar fire from Syrian territory last night. The fire was returned. There were no casualties.
