Congressman Sees Suez Canal Closed for 10-15 Years

SIGN UP FOR THE JTA DAILY BRIEFING

Edward J. Derwinski. (R.Dh) told the Near East Subcommittee of the House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing on the implications of the reopening of the Suez Canal yesterday. He said that the Arabs cannot agree on a total package and no one leader is strong enough to take independent action.
