Two Religious Zealots Sentenced

Declaring that “God doesn’t need a gendarmerie on earth,” Magistrate Moshe Shalgi pronounced sentences today on two religious zealots who participated in violent demonstrations against Sabbath violators here last July. One of them, Zvi Greenwald, was sentenced to four month’s imprisonment. The other, a minor whose name was withheld, was fined $120. The pair was found guilty of unlawful assembly and disturbing the peace. According to police they were part of a mob that blocked traffic and stoned busses.
