The Religious Zionist Movement, comprising the Mizrachi Hapoel Hamizrachi, Mizrachi Women of America and the Hapoel Hamizrachi Women, in reacting to the withdrawal of the Zionist Organization of America from the American Zionist Federation expressed “shock at this breach in Zionist unity.”

In a statement which followed a National Executive Board resolution, the Religious Zionists reiterated their “continuous support of the American Zionist Federation” and they underscored that the “unity in diversity concept of the Federation has not only allowed each constituent organization to further its unique program and objectives within the Zionist framework, but has immeasurably strengthened the wholesome influence of Zionism on the American Jewish scene.” The RZA stated that “nothing is more fundamental to Zionism than the cohesion of ideologically disparate groups into a force aspiring towards a common goal.”
